PCSing to Maryland, Fort Meade: Military Relocation
If you are a military family, you know very well that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is a good possibility. You are also probably aware that it is a lot of change and a lot of work. Packing, arranging schedules, finding a new home, new schools, new neighborhoods- it can be a lot.
Having been born and raised right here in Maryland, I have met dozens of military families over the years that have relocated to the Fort Meade area.
Because of that, I have become a Military Relocation Professional and I have found it something I really enjoy to help those families relocate. I have children of my own, so I know that finding good neighborhoods, good schools, and hey, even good coffee shops and activities for the kids- is key in making the move less stressful.
Commute times are also a thing to be considered when looking for a home that will suite you well. I am able to help map those commutes to see what works best for you.
For military spouses, there are an exceptional number of job opportunities in the Maryland area. Being right in between DC and Baltimore, there are endless options.
There are a lot of great areas local to Fort Meade that can provide a great place to live. Some of those include:
Odenton
Crofton
Glen Burnie
Columbia
Hanover
Annapolis
It is not always easy to travel back and forth when looking for a new home. If you are not able to come visit for multiple showings, I am able to do them virtually for you as well.
Getting a preapproval from a mortgage lender is essential before starting to search for a home so that we know exact amount we have to work. A lender will also consider things like your BAH and other assets to provide you with the best information. I have great recommendations as far as Lenders (both VA and not), contractors, inspectors, and pretty much anything else you might need.
If you are planning to move to the area, I would love to help you. Planning on selling in the area? I can help with that, too.
